Back in December, our lab, in collaboration with Prof. Niedoszytko’s lab, published a study in the Journal of Asthma and Allergy exploring how gut microbiome composition is linked to asthma control and treatment outcomes.
Asthma patients showed significantly lower gut microbial diversity compared with healthy controls, with specific microbial shifts correlating with disease severity. These findings highlight the growing importance of the gut–lung axis in understanding asthma.
