Aniela Kosobucka recently completed a one-month research stay in the laboratory of Prof. Ana Espada de Sousa at the GIMM (Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine), Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal. She worked under the supervision of Dr. Margarida Rei, a recognized expert in T cell biology, particularly in antigen-specific T cell responses.
During her stay, Aniela gained hands-on experience in lentiviral transduction of primary CD8+ T cells to generate T cells with defined T cell receptor (TCR) specificity. The internship provided the necessary expertise to both engineer and culture primary T cells, which are technically challenging even for experienced researchers.
Her research stay was funded by the NAWA – Narodowa Agencja Wymiany Akademickiej STER programme.
Aniela really enjoyed her time in Portugal, and we are especially grateful for the expertise and hospitality of Dr. Margarida Rei!
